Heartfelt Friends Blog Hop

Well I'm back on track today and this new stamp set is a lot of fun to play with. The colors I used are very bright and I got to use lots of pink so that was fun, even a little obnoxious. This set is called Heartfelt Friends and will be available on Feb 2nd at 2RedBananas.com. I used Maya Roads chipboard on both cards. The monkey card I painted it and the flamingo card I covered it with paper. Both cards also have ribbon from 2RedBananas. These cards are for the two men in my life, my son Jake and husband Scott. Just so you don't worry, Jake will get the monkey card (he really likes monkeys) and Scott the flamingos for valentines day. Lucky for me they don't read my blog.

Be sure to visit the other Banana Blogs to check out some of the other images from this set, leave your comments and then go to the 2RedBanana blog to answer a question to be entered into a drawing for this fun stamp set.

Value of Joy

Sorry I'm late on this post. I got confused and to be honest I didn't have a card made so I just obviously threw this together. Sorry Bananas. I do really like this quote and thought it went perfect with this felt butterfly as well as the paper from Imaginisce. The card also demanded to have some dew drops on it. Don't forget to stop at the 2RedBananas blog to answer the question for the drawing.

Blog Day #4 Snowman Love

This page is very simple but the cute snowman added just what it needed. I used it as a little journaling block and heat embossed him and the date. He is from a set called "Snowman Love" and you can get it on February 2nd at 2RedBananas. My card also has a phrase from the set but there are a lot of other fun things like snow balls and mittens. My card was inspired from the ribbon challenge and I again used the dew drops to give it a little shine.

Please visit the 2RedBananas blog and post your comments in order to be placed in a prize drawing for this cute set.

Come Home Soon - Blog Hop

These three cards were all made with the stamp set "Come Home Soon" that you can find on 2RedBananas.com It was a fun set because as you can see from my cards you can do a lot with them. I think my favorite is the one that looks like the flag because I did the most sewing on it. The "I miss you card is also fun because I used almost all of the stamps from the set on it. The card with the soilder I used my Quickutz star boarder for the first time so that was fun.

So, for today's blog hop you need to go to 2RedBananas.com and check out the paper and then go to the blog and comment on what your favorite paper is. I really like the October Afternoon line with the blues and greens. Also be sure to leave comments at all the Bananas blogs on the cards that we made. We love the comments and you will get some great ideas for using the stamps. Remember they are available on Feb. 2nd but you could win one today. Have fun hopping!

Blog Hop Day 2 "January Journaling"

Hello Hoppers! On my pages today I used the new January Journaling sets from 2RedBananas. I really like journaling blocks for scrapbooking as there are so many uses. As you can see from the Mitten page I used it to put my year on the page. Those are my nieces and we go skating every year so it is important that I get the year on there so we can keep track. Aren't they cute. The next page is all pictures from January with just a list of words that go with the pictures. I stamped the journaling block on acetate so you could still see the picture. Since 2RedBananas is going to have a journaling block every month I decided to do my own challenge and try and to a collage page every month. Lets see if I can follow through with that.
So todays hop you need to visit all the Bananas, post a comment and then go back to the 2RedBananas blog and post all our answers to a question.
QUESTION: What is your favorite ribbon. Gross Grain is definately mine as there are so many uses. There are lots of color choices on 2RedBananas so be sure to check that section out. I love to staple it on a page. I just love the texture of gross grain on a page or card.

Good Friends

I finally finished this BoBunny chipboard book and I really like how it turned out. The pictures are from a trip to Vegas from last Jan. Every Jan. a group of my friends get together for a party and last year we had the party for 20 years so decided to go to Vegas. There is also a gift exchange and whoever ends up with this really bad book of poetry has the party the next year. Well guess who got the book last year. So I actually made two of these one for me and one to give as a gift at the party. The party is Sat. so I'm ready, except for cleaning.

Gift Card Holder

I thought this stamp was perfect for gift giving. The heart is a quickutz and the ribbon I got from 2RedBananas.

Sew & Sew

I really like sewing on pages and cards so here is another one with sewing. This one I did hand sewing and used the machine. I would like to have a sewing machine right in my crop room but no room and it doesn't kill me to walk to the basement where it is set up. I really like this house mouse stamp and the saying. I can't wait to send it out to a friend.
I also wanted to let you know that 2RedBananas is going to be releasing some new stamps on Feb. 2nd and we will have some sneak peaks the week before then so get ready for some fun.

Ribbon Challenge

2RedBananas is having a creative challenge and it is what inspired this card. The challenge is to use ribbon as creatively as you can. It doesn't have to be ribbon from 2RedBananas, there is a lot of really great ribbon if you need some to get you started. The prize for this challenge is a sampling of Valentine-ish products. Your card/page must be posted by Sunday, January 18th midnight CST. On Monday, January 19th a random winner will be drawn.

So on this card I cut my ribbon (from 2RedBananas)into little pieces and then sewed it onto my card. I love sewing on pages/cards whether with my machine or by hand. I think it looks better in person. I need to work on photographing my cards so they look good on line. :)

Good luck with the challenge.

All Boy

I went scrap booking with some friends on Friday and was very productive getting 6 pages done. Woo Hoo! I was so inspired that I got two more pages done at home on Sunday. This page was of my son Jake. It is true that all he wears is hoodies. I don't even see what shirt he is wearing in the morning as the hoodie immediately goes on. So, I just had to use my new stamp set that I got from 2RedBananas. It's from October afternoon and is called "all boy". I used it on another page as well. I love finding new "boy" things to use on my pages. There is also a girl set but I haven't bought that one yet.

HOUSE Mouse

Okay, why didn't anyone tell me I had the words backwards in my last post. That's what happens with you are left handed and think with your right side of your brain. Any way for this card I used the House Mouse stamp and my quickutz to make the scalloped circle and then punched holes and covered some with my new favorite embellishment - dew drops. When I finished this card I sent it off to a good friend with a gift card to Starbucks. Enjoy.

Mouse House Card

This mouse house card turned out so cute I had to put it in the mail right away to my husbands grandma. She is in a nursing home and loves getting mail plus she thinks all my cards are cute, even if they aren't. The stamps you can find at www.2RedBananas.com along with other mouse stamps. I used some decorative scissors on the edges so that's always good getting out an old tool you don't use very often. I also tied the ribbon so it looks like it's tied on to the cup.

Thank You Cards

This card is pretty simple but I needed to put something together quick for my son Jake to use. He had to write thank you notes to his grandparents. If you can see I stitched around the edges. I love sewing on cards and scrap pages. I also used some dew drops. I got them from 2RedBananas and now I can't stop using them. I think I'm going to have to get some more colors they are so much fun. The paper is Basic Gray and the alpha and flowers are from Quickutz, another favorite.

Valentine Cards!

My nieces come for a visit every year around New Years for us to celebrate Christmas and it has become a tradition for us to make Valentines cards at that time. We get three holidays for one. So here are some pictures of us working on our cards and the outcomes. My son Jake even helped out. We are at the kitchen table because my scrap room is a mess.
