sketch challenge

I'm trying to do a challenge a week and this week I found a scrapbook challenge at Sketches by Tamara. So, I pretty much followed the sketch and was able to get lots of pictures on one page. Yes I'm still working on the 2007 ball pictures of Jake. I really liked how it turned out. Now I just need to do another page with the team photo.

Don't forget to check out the sneak peak for the March release stamps at 2RedBananas.com

Gunther's Greetings

Today is day three of the stamp previews for 2RedBananas and the stamp set is called Gunther's Greetings. I had a lot of fun with this set. Not only does it have a really cute dog image it also has several "dog" sayings to go with it. First I made a page with a picture of my two boys. I really liked how this simple page turned out and the saying fit perfect. The picture was taken at a place in the mall and I was so worried about getting a good picture of the dog that I forgot about my sons smile, so it's not the best but I really liked the picture in black and white.
Next I made this card and I was very excited to use my new quickutz die that is really a bird house, but worked great as a dog house to hide part of the saying.
Remember to check out Jamie and Wendy's blogs as they have other ideas for this great set.

Journaling & Quotes

Today for the sneak peak at 2RedBananas we have two stamp sets. The first is a journaling block shaped like a kite for March. I had a lot of fun with this stamp. On my card I stamped it and then stitched the tail and then I decided I might as well stitch the entire kite. I was pleased with the way it turned out. When I saw the stamp I immediately thought of a picture of my son I had taken six years ago in Rhode Island at a kite flying park. I dug the picture out and it work perfect. He looks so little then, but I guess he was only six or seven.
The second stamp set is four quotes. I made this green and orange card using my favorite quotes in the set. The paper/tag is new from My Minds eye and you can also get that at the banana store. I used a souffle pen to trace around the flowers stitching and then used it again as a border.
It was fun working with these stamp sets thinking about spring. If you want to see more quotes and ideas stop off at Maraya & Jenette's blogs. Also don't forget to participate in the challenge. Remember, these stamps will be available on March 2nd at 2RedBananas.

Sneak Peak Week

This week 2RedBananas will have a sneak peak of 9 new stamp sets that will be released on March 2nd. There is also a challenge to use three different items of your choice ( ribbon, dew drops, scallops, etc.) from the card/pages you see that the design teams post. The winners will get to pick one of the new stamp sets! I didn't explain this very well so if you are interested in winning a new stamp and want a challenge go to the 2RedBananas blog for more information.
On to the card. This was made with a set designed by Sgt. Stamper and has a lot of beautiful images. I used the dogwood branches and the thank you, but to see more visit Jami and Jeanette's blogs. I also used my new Fiskars scallop punch, fun fun. Oh, I almost forgot I used new paper from My Mind's Eye. I just love the line and immediately made two cards out of it. You can also pick that paper up at 2RedBananas.

Flutter By Butterfly

I think I'm getting into the challenge grove. I am participating in the challenge from Just Christmas and Birthday Cards again this week. Maybe it will become a weekly thing for me. Any way I really liked the sketch and how my card turned out. I like the quote too, it came from a set called the Value of Joy that you can get at 2RedBananas. It's amazing how many butterflies you can find in your stash when you start looking. The butterfly is actually a rub on not a stamp so I don't know if that is cheating or not but it goes with this line from Basic Grey that I just got in a page kit. It's great because I scrapped a page as well as made a card from the kit. Woo Hoo

Catch Up

Well I had great fun scrapping last Friday night with a friend. I got 5 pages done and two more that I started. This page is from 2007. Yes I'm a little behind on baseball. I got tired of scrapping ball so I stopped. Now I want to get caught up again before the season starts and since Jake has already started practice for his AAU team that motivated me. I really liked how this page turned out. I lifted it from a layout in creating keepsakes. I really like arrows and I did a lot of stamping on the pages but that is hard to see.

House Mouse Challenge

Today 2RedBananas is sponsoring a challenge on the House Mouse blog. If you are interested in the challenge or like these cute little mice then go to their site and enter for a chance to win a house mouse stamp. http://housemouse-challenge.blogspot.com/ I had no problem coming up with something for this sketch challenge as I love circles. I used some basic grey paper to compliment the circles and some new ribbon that has wire in it for easy bending. The wire and the stamps you can find at 2RedBananas.com. Have fun if you decide to join us in the challenge.

Another Easter Card

I really like the sentiment on this card and know I will use it over and over again. It comes from a set called "The Gift" that you can find at 2RedBananas.com. I again used some old scraps of paper for the background and also had to add some dew drops. The stamp has a cloth over the cross so I put some ribbon on that spot and used a glue dot to tack it down. It turned out better than I thought it would. :) I'm going scrapbooking tonight. I can't wait to get some pages done and maybe posted.

I decided to try a challenge from the Daily Dare site. I picked Just Christmas and Birthday Cards challenge because my niece has a birthday coming up and I knew I would get some inspiration. I think she will like this bright card for her special day. The paper is some scraps from My Minds Eye and the frog stamp came from a new set from 2RedBananas called Heartfelt Friends.

Big Bird

Sympathy cards seem to be really hard for me to make. I don't need one right now but I like to have one on hand, and I also make them for Scott's Grandma who is in a nursing home. I used this big chipboard bird from Maya Road and a journaling card from Webster's Pages for a softer look. Those supplies can be found at 2RedBananas.com The paper is double sided, my favorite.

Week In The Life

Some time last year Ali Edwards had a challenge to take pictures of what you do every day for a week and then scrap it. My friend Tracy did one and it was so cute it inspired me to try it too. My week was last November and two months later I finally finished it. I think it turned out pretty good and I got some picture of myself as well.

I know the cover picture is familiar as it's also my blog picture. The last page was something fun too as I took my index and put that on the page. I didn't get to use all the picture in the album so that was a way to still keep them together.
If you never scrap book about yourself I would encourage you to try this challenge. It only takes a few minutes a day. Although it did take me the two months to finish I'm glad that I did it.

Snowman Wishes

Well, here is another card from one of those great stamp sets that you can now purchase at 2RedBananas.com. It is called "snowman love" and it is way cute. I just had to make another card with it. I still haven't used all the stamps from the set but I'm working on it. I stamped the mittens and then cut them out and put them on a string like you use to have when you were little. That was fun. I also sewed on the corners but it's a little hard to see. I'm putting this one in the mail today to my husbands grandma. I know she will like it.
Anyway, thanks for all you hoppers last week and be sure to stop at the 2RedBananas.com store to pick up your new favorite set of stamps. Be sure to take a look at the ribbon while you are there too.

Blog Hop - February Journal

Today I used the new February Journaling set to make this card. I use the word to stamp my background and then the jouranling block was stamped on some double sided imaginisce paper that I really like. I also used some quickutz letters. It's a fairly new alphabete and I was glad to see it fit nicely on a card.

Today is the last day of our 2RedBanana hop so be sure to visit the other Banana's and then go to the blog and answer the question of the day. Then you will be entered into a drawing for this fun journaling set. I can't wait for the end of the month so I can make a scrap page with with this set. If it turns out cute you will see it here.
