Christmas in July

Okay this week I tried to do the Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink and I thought I did and then when I went to post this discovered that I made a mistake. You were suppose to use white ink and I used white paint. Oh well this card turned out cute any way. I used the brush technique from last weeks challenge and I also used a dobber to form my line. I guess Monday is just around the corner so I have another opportunity to try again. It was fun to do a winter card in the middle of July!

After this post I kept looking at my card and it was kinda plain so I had to go back and add some bling. Much better.

PTI Blog Hop

I have a really hard time with photo challenges. I usually end up going with the colors. Here I tried to go with some of the shapes as well. It's the first time I've inked up the rectangle shape so I'm happy to use a new stamp!

Stamp-a-Faire #3

Okay, I skipped the second challenge and went to #3 which was to use a window and tie a ribbon on it. Can you see my zig zag stitching at the bottom of the card for grass?

Stamp-a-Faire

Over at Papertrey today they are having lots of challenges for their Stamp-a-Faire. I had time to make another card today and couldn't resist making strips for this get well card for my friend. I hope she isn't watching today. I also can't believe this is my second post. They have some more challenges so check it out. I might have to do another since it is rainy here.

MIM / Card Class

Today I made a card for two challenges. I'm still using the color combo from the Summer Card Class and I also used a paint technique for the challenge on Make it Monday. I have several friends with birthdays in August and thought it would be a good time to start making birthday cards.

Card #4

Today's card was based off a sketch from my Summer Card Class. I couldn't figure out how to get the sketch on my blog but I did make another card! This one is pretty simple but I like it.

Thursday's Card

I wonder how many cards I can make using this same color combo? I really like how this one turned out. I was using paint on another card and saw the sketches and modified one a lot.

Tuesday #2

Okay, here is my second card of the week for the Summer Card Class. I used the embossing technique they showed using ink on your embossing folder. I used the Tim Holz wood grain. A little hard to see in pic. I also used my new Technique Tues. stamp with the tree I am so excited about. Hope this card makes you smile.

Summer Card Class

This weeks colors for my summer card class are my favorite. Green is my favorite color and since I have a son I am always using lots of blue. I decided to grung up this card for some reason and I added a little bird in the corner (doesn't show well in pic) that just came in my new Technique Tuesday set. I was so excited to ink it up, I can't wait to use the rest of the stamps in this set. It's called Get Outside and has a great tree image that I'm going to try and use. I'm also going to try and make a card every day this week and post to kick off the end of class. Well see how that goes.

Make It Monday

I am really slow with this challenge and the card looks like it's a belated 4th card but it's not it's a thank you for a 4th of July cook out. The Papertrey challenge this week was to make your own pocket. I only have one edger die so my choices were limited. Turned out okay for a fast simple card.

Summer Card Camp #3

This weeks color combo at camp let me be a little grungy. They colors weren't bright summer colors this week so I got out the distressed inks and had some fun. I picked up a new sentiment set from Hero Arts so I'm trying to ink them all up.

Card Class #2

Well today I made another card for my on line card class I am taking. This color combo was really fun and bright. I'm also excited about it because I made almost all the pieces on the card. I stamped, embossed, glossy accented, stazon on acetate, stickles on brads, die cut, fussy cut, punches. I think that's it. Boy it's fun to use stuff you already have and be really creative.

Birthday Card

Well my brother in law turns 50 this week so I had to make a special card for him. I think it turned out pretty good. I used 4 different stamp sets on this card. That has to be a record for me. I hope all the different styles aren't too much. I had to use some black. I love that core impressions paper with the embossing folders.
