Happy Mail

Today's card is for the Happy Mail Challenge over at Big Picture Classes.  This challenge was to use twine.  I tried to get a little creative but there are already some really cute cards posted for this challenge.  I use the doodle bug twine a lot so it's fun to see what everyone else does with it and lift some ideas.  Here is a link if you want to join in the twine fun.

I was so excited for these challenges after I received my new butterfly die from Papertrey Ink.  This card is for the make it monday challenge to layer vellum and for the blog hop!  We were inspired by book covers.  You will have to go and guess which cover I lifted from.  Have fun hopping.

Gratitude Day 12

Well I'm plugging along with my 30 days of gratitude.  I'm up to date with my pages but I'm only on page 14 for my friend that I'm also making a book for.  She has a hard time taking pictures everyday (non-scrapper).  She did take a really good picture of herself.  This day she was thankful for mascara! This is my favorite page of the week.  I took pictures of some stones at a new memorial in my town.  It has stones for my grandpa, dad, and uncles.  I made the pictures small so they would all fit.  I really liked how it turned out and I'm very grateful for their service.

Fall Birthday

Today I'm posting a card I lifted from the Nov. Cards magazine.  It turned our so cute.  I added the embossed numbers for the background.  I just love the coordinations paper that you can sand.  I also made one with leaves for the background because I decided I liked this sentiment for a birthday or just and any day card.  I'm still making a lot of fall cards.  Just can't get started on Christmas yet.

Gratitude Album

This year I am doing a gratitude album for the month of November.  It's Cathy Zielske project and she has made it really simple by setting up this down loadable template that all you have to do is print, stick the photo on and add a little journaling.  So here is the cover page and my first day, from yesterday.  I started with really traditional picture of my home.  I am also going to do one for my non-scrapper friend Cheri.  Her birthday is in Nov. and I always do a little scrappy something for her this month.  So she is going to take the pictures and I am going to put it together for her.  Of course I will add stuff.  As you can see I couldn't resist stamping on my photo and adding a litttle bling to the title page.  Cheri's first picture was of her getting her hair colored as yesterday she was really thankful of her hairdresser.  I didn't think she would want me to post that picture though.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!  We had beggars night last night and only had a small handful of trick or treaters and several of then seemed a little old.  I guess if I want to dress up you can't blame the older kids for wanting to get in one more year of fun.  This is a picture of Scott and me at our annual Halloween party from last week.  This years theme was dead celebrities.  Of course he was Harry Caray and I was Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffanys.  It was lots of fun but this year we had lots of duplicates.

Floating Image

Today I made another fall card for another challenge.  This one was for Papertrey Ink and the challenge was to have a floating image in a window.  I just love this Leaf Prints stamp and die set.  It's an old one of theirs but new to me this year and I can't stop making fall cards with it.  Hope you like it too.

Happy Mail Challenge 2

This card was made for the second Happy Mail Challenge over at Big Picture Classes.  The challenge was to use two different sized circles on your card.  I hope you can see the embossed circles behind the tree.  Didn't photo very well.  I feel like I'm behind because I'm still making fall cards and everyone else is on to Christmas cards.

Big Picture Challenge

I made this card for a challenge at the Big Picture Classes.  Stacy Julian is doing a 365 but with cards.  This project is more about sending the cards or hand written notes to someone every day for a year!  I already send a card once a week to my husbands grandma who is in a nursing home so I decided to bump up my card production and sending.  I haven't sent a card every day but almost every day since the project started.  My goal is to at least send a card to someone besides Grandma once a week and I have gone way over that.  It's amazing how many birthdays there are. ha ha Anyway, this was a color challenge with black, red, teal, and gray.  I was very excited to use my new memento gray ink on this project.  I think it turned out nice.  Off to the mailbox with this card.

Stiching on Stamps

Todays PTI challenge was to stamp an image and then stich around it.  I love sewing and use my machine a lot but have not gotten out the needle and embrodery thread for a while so this was fun.  I used the hexagon set and stamped the images and then sewed right around the yellow ones.  It was really fun.

PTI Sketch Challenge

Today I had some time to make cards and needed some inspiration so I used one of the PTI sketches to make this card.  I just got the button set and couldn't wait to use it.  I love anything sewing.

Layers

This weeks Papertrey challenge was to make a flat card and then to make the same card and add layers.  It was a fun challenge and I usually like lots of layers but today I like my flat card the best.  I used the Faith and Hope set along with the coordinating ribbon die.  The first card is totally flat and then the second card I just added stickles.  The third card has pop dots, ribbon, layered paper, and stickles.

Bunny Ears Flower

Long time no post - Today I am making a card for Papertrey's challenge to make a flower with die that isn't a flower. I thought this was going to be hard but when I sat down at may messy scrap table there was my new bunny ear dies still out laying around just waiting to be put away and don't you know they looked like the perfect petals so it was easier than I thought. I stamped the paper with a jar filler and heat embossed then cut them out and glued them down.

Glitter Buttons

It's been a while since I've made a card as I've been doing a lot of scrapping. But this weeks Papertrey challenge reminded me that I had a birthday card to make. Always have to have a little bling on the birthday cards. So the challenge was to glitter up your buttons. For some reason I have never done this before so I got out my stickles and had some fun. I used my Papertrey Everyday Button Bits stamp and some of their wonderful buttons (new leaf ).

Faith & Hope

I went on a scrap book retreat last week end and got lots of scrap pages done but I hit a dry spell and so worked on card making for a while. I made two of these cards with the PapertreyInk's set called Faith & Hope. I made them orange because that is the color for Leukemia and Kidney cancer. I know two ladies that each have cancer to send this card. I hope it inspires them.

PTI Anniversary

Papertrey Ink is having their 5th anniversary and celebrating with fun stuff all week. I made this card with a free download. The bee went perfect with some new paper from My Minds Eye and I am just crazy about those straight pins. I can't seem to stop buying them. This will make a cute non-traditional valentine to send.

MIM Late

This card is from last weeks PTI Make it Monday Challenge. I'm a little behind with card making as I'm scrapping a lot these days. Now off to watch this weeks challenge video.
