Confetti

This weeks PapertreyInks challenge was to create your own confetti with one of your dies.  I still needed to make another St.Patricks day card so I used the heart from the Trendy Tree Tops die to make my shamrocks.  Not sure if it is really counts as confetti but I think it works.

Metal Frame

This is a very cool frame that I made in a class at Memory Bound today.  It was so easy and fun to do.  I can't wait to make more.  We embossed the metal and then attached it to the frame.  Then we put black paint on it and wiped most of it off then sanded.  Tada! Of course I had to buy more embossing folders.

Watercolor Backgrounds

This weeks PTI challenge is to use watercolor for an embossed image.  I surprisingly didn't have any watercolor paints but I did have my distressed ink and it worked wonderfully.  This was my second try and I like how it turned out simple but very pink. The first try was on textured paper and my clear embossing powder had been compromised with some black. Bla I'm glad I tried again.

Layering Dye & Pigment Ink

This was a fun Make It Monday from PaperTrey Ink.  First you stamp with a pigment ink to match your paper (I used white). You let that dry and then stamp your image over it with a dye ink and you can see the design.  I decided to die cut out the buttons instead of stamping them right on the jar.  Pretty cool technique.

Sketch Challenge #2

I just had to try another sketch/color challenge from Papertrey Ink.  I guess I am in the stitching mood because this is the second card I have made with stitching.  Of course I am also using a lot of sequins these days.  I already have my valentines done for the year so on to the next holiday.

7-7-17

Today's Papertrey's challenge is to take seven minutes to pick out seven supplies and then make the card in 17 minutes.  I used three different stamp sets to make this card so that took up a lot of my supplies.  I am a big fan of sequins so I had to have some of those too.  What a fun challenge to get you moving! Yeah Papertrey Ink!

Happy Birthday

Another post with another printable.  I used a stamp from the set Happiness in Bloom.  I thought it was a weird stamp in the set and didn't think I would ever use it but it was a perfect match for the loops on the printable and I thought it also looked like a candle flame to go with the birthday theme.

Printables

Challenge #2 from Papertrey Ink is to use one of their downloadable images to create a card.  I did a little fussy cutting with this image and added some felt and came up with a pretty clean quick card. Fun!

Sketch/Color Challenge

This month is Papertrey Ink's 7th anniversary and they are having lots of fun over on their blog.  They are having challenges every day this week.  The first one was a sketch and color challenge.  The sketch part I liked but I'm not very good at color challenges.  So her is my birthday card for my niece that is coming up.  Had to add a little stitching to get one of the colors added.

Window Screen

Today's challenge over at Papertrey was to make a card with a window screen.  This bee hive inspired card was the first idea that came to my mind.  It has two things I love hexagons and sequins!

Make It Monday Glitter

This weeks Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey is to use a glittered embellishment. I don't use a lot of glitter but this was kinda fun making my tree with three different colors of glitter.  The tree is green glitter but for some reason doesn't look it in the photo.

White on White

This card was inspired by a scrap page I saw that was white on white.  I loved the page and thought I should try a card like that.  Well it turned out for the most part but I just had to put some blue for the card base.  It just needed a little color. Ha Ha Of course I also had to add those wonderful sequins I'm in love with. This card is perfect for today as we just had an inch of snow last night.

Vinyl Love

Today I took a challenge from the Silhouette Blog to make a new Valentine item.  I saw their example on a clip board and it reminded me of this little red clip board I bought long ago.  I saw the new LOVE die and thought it would be perfect.  Any time I get to play with vinyl in my silhouette is fun.

Respect the Hog

Respect the Hog!  I made this funny groundhog day card with the help of a free downloadable card from Cathy Zielske ( cathyzielske.typepad.com ).  It was posted on the 13th and is just so cute I couldn't pass it up. There are three different cards and I am going to use them all.  I am also using Becky Higgins Holiday Edition of Project Life to make an 8 x 8 album of all the holidays of the year.  I made a list of the holidays and groundhog day was on my list.  I thought it might be a challenge to find something to use but then Cathy came up with these great cards.  I can't wait for Feb. 2nd to see if the little guy sees his shadow or not.
