Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge

Mini cards are so popular right now I decided this would be the perfect time to make one. This card is inspired by the Papertrey Ink photo inspiration challenge. I love this vintage picnic set and the inspiration has books in it so I tore out a page of an old thesaurus and die cut my basket. The daisies were easy with a little stickles for the centers.

Freestyle #2

Okay I guess I really enjoyed the freestyle challenge more than I thought because I made another card with this technique. This time I used it on my background and went for a somewhat masculine look. Green and purple are my favorite colors but had to add blue for balance. I really wanted to add some stickles or glitter but was trying to keep it more masculine. What do you think? Should I add some?

FREEstyle Copics

This weeks Make It Monday challenge at PapertreyInk was to go freestyle with your copic markers. This means coloring outside the lines. So...it sounds fun and easy right??? But when you actually put your pen down on your paper you are like, "Am I doing this right?" That's what I did any way. Needless to say I had to practice going freestyle. Kinda goofy I know but I did like how it turned out. Maybe next time I use this technique I will be a little more free about it.

Make It Monday

This weeks PTI Make It Monday challenge was to use your die as a guide for glitter. As soon as I saw the idea I knew I was going to use my new small friendship die and make an outline of a bug jar. It's suppose to be like the glow from the fire flies. For some reason this card looks much better in person than it does flat on my screen. Maybe the glitter just looks better in person. Any way this was a fun one, haven't used glitter in a while.

RE: Little League

Well I was gone for a while but hope to be back scrapping and card making soon. My son's little league junior all star team won the state tournament here in Iowa which means that we had an unplanned vacation to Indiana to play in the regional competition. The boys did really well and our record we 2-2 so we got to come home. This is a picture of the team watching a game before we are about to play. My son Jake is the tall one #49 in the middle. Just love this shot. They love ball as much as I love scrapping and card making.

Hydrendeas

Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers. This picture is of one of the plants in my garden. Living in Iowa the soil doesn't have enough something in it for the flowers to turn blue/purple so every two weeks I have to mix up a gallon of water with mix for each of my six plants. I love them. So any way when PTI came out with a new jar set that had a bunch of hydrangeas in it I just had to get them. Here is my first card with the set and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Vintage Picnic Basket!

I can't seem to stop making cards with my new stamp set. It's so cute I have all of these ideas in my head so get ready for a lot of basket cards to come. I will probably have to order the additional sentiments that Papertrey has that goes along with this set.

Lift Card

I was so excited to get my Papertrey order last week that I went right over to their web site and lifted my first card with this vintage picnic basket set. I just love it and I'm sure will be making many more cards with this set.
