Banana Split Sunday

Today the Banana Split Sunday challenge is to us a tree. I have seen cards before with button trees but have never made one myself so it was a fun challenge. Green is my favorite color so I do have a large supply of green buttons but finding enough of the right colors that go together was the trick. This is a fun challenge, hope you give it a try and don't forget to check out the other bananas trees as well.

Dreaming about Summer

Okay, today we have a blizzard here in Iowa and I'm dreaming about summer. We had 14 inches of snow last night and are all stuck in the house. Perfect time to scrap and make cards but I'm posting a page I made last week. I was very excited as this was a challenge to use a circle as your focal point on a page from The Scrap Room. I was very pleased with how it turned out and then was the random winner of the challenge. This is just the second week I had participated in their challenges so I'm pretty excited. Hope you like my page and that it is warmer where you are than here.

Banana Split Sunday Stay Warm

This weeks Banana Split Sunday Challenge is to make a card that reflects "Staying Warm". I immediately thought of this House Mouse image that makes me feel warm. The sentiment is from a new Christmas Sentiments set at 2RedBananas. It's a thank you sentiment thrown in with holiday greetings. So see if you can have warm thoughts this week and maybe you can win a House Mouse stamp for the prize drawing.

Banana Split Sunday

Today the Banana Split Sunday Challenge is called, "Are your Christmas cards mailed yet?" Obviously the challenge is to make a Christmas or Winter card. The prize for this weeks challenge is the stamp I used called Penny's Christmas Tree. I paper pieced the tree for a fun look. Be sure to check out the other bananas for different ideas on ways to use this cute stamp.

Blessings

Today I took a scrap challenge from a blog at the Scrap Room. It is a monthly kit club I belong to and I just love their paper. I just discovered that they have a weekly challenge so I decided to give it a try. I have a whole bunch of scrapping to do for my nephews pictured here so a challenge was very helpful today. I used the Kennedy quote from the 2RB Oct/Nov Journaling set.

Snowman Love

Today I made a card from the PCP sketch challenge. I used a stamp from a set called Snowman Love at 2RedBananas. This set is actually on sale and is really cute with several sayings and snowflakes. I really liked how the brown and blue look together but after I posted it I decided I should maybe add some glitter to bling him up a little. Funny how it looks different on the computer.

Banana Split Sunday

Today the Banana Split Sunday Challenge is to make something that expresses what you are thankful for. I already made Thanksgiving cards for my family so this challenge inspired me to make a card for a friend who is the best. The stamps come from a set called Fuzzy Bears from 2RB. I was excited to use a new embossing folder I got from Quickuzt called Leaves. I think I will be using this one a lot. I really like the variety of leaves, hope you can see them. I also added stitching I often do. So this is the perfect challenge for this time of year, give it a try.

MoJo Sketch

Today I have another card from the MoJo Monday sketch challenge. I needed a congrats card for a friend who got a promotion and this Stg. Chicken stamp from 2RedBananas worked out perfectly. I have used this stamp for so many different cards it always makes me smile because it is so cute and so versatile. So congratulations Shelly, I saulute you!

Simple Card

Today I made a card from PCP sketch challenge. It is pretty simple but that's okay. I'm still working on some cards for my sister in law and I think I need simple just to get them done. I also got this Crate Paper in a kit and thought what am I going to do with this heart paper, it's not time for valentines yet? So it worked out perfect.

Banana Split Sunday

Todays Banana Split Sunday Challenge is a sketch challenge. I flipped it upside down for my card with a stamp set called Tilly that you can find at 2RB. I know I have said it before but this set has so many cute cow sayings I just love it. Be sure to go to the blog to check out the sketch and see what the other bananas came up with for this one.

MoJo Time

Todays card I used the MoJo Monday sketch. It's a pretty simple card but I really like this tree stamp from 2RedBananas and the bird paper is just adorable.

Banana Split Sunday

Today the Banana Split Sunday challenge is a product challenge. Use eyelets, ribbon, and an oval. I was struggling with the eyelets until I remembered a card that someone made with eyelets for the wheels of the skate board so I lifted that idea. My oval is a word bubble so I hope that works for everyone. The boy stamp is called Skater Jack from 2RedBananas.

Jack & Snowman

Today I made a card using another new stamp from 2RedBananas. It's called Jack and the Snowman. I really like Jack and the snow man is super cute. The warm fuzzies inspired me to use a little flock on his hat and the snow ball. I was also excited to use my new quickutz embossing folder. I bought it because it made me think of baseballs but when I started this card I thought of it as snowballs.

Banana Split Sunday

Todays Banana Split Sunday Challenge is a color challenge. You need to use three or four of the colors red, yellow, orange, and brown. It's a great color challenge for this time of year. I cheated a little and used paper with these colors in them already but it works. I used the Oct/Nov Journaling set that was just released this week from 2RedBananas. I really like the little acorn. So many things you can do with it. I can't wait to use it as a background, but here I paper pieced and popped the acorn tops for dimension. Have fun with this challenge. There is a prize this week of a goodie bag of items from 2RB.

MoJo Penny

Today I took the MoJo challenge and created this fall card with a new stamp from 2RedBananas. I flipped the sketch on it's side so I could make a flower. The stamp set is called "Autumn Leaves Penny". This paper is from the same Scenic Route line that I used for my last card. It seems to be working out nicely for the fall colors. I also used my new die from Quickutz for the flower. It's always fun to use something new for the first time. Hope you like it.

Falling Leaves

The leaves are falling in my yard like crazy and that is the name of this new stamp over at 2RedBananas. It's actually called "Falling Leaves Jack". There are several other new stamps that are available for purchase. I really like this one because you just don't see many little boy stamps. There is another one called "Jack and the Snowman" that I will try and make a card with later this week. If you want to see it now stop over at 2RB.

Banana Split Sunday

Another Banana Split Sunday Challenge. This one is a recipe challenge. You need to use a square, the color red, and 3 buttons. This was really fun as I'm use to doing a lot of sketch challenges. I also used a new stamp set from 2RedBananas. Have a great day.

MoJo Challenge

I needed a thank you card and some inspiration so I went to the MoJo Monday challenge and picked up this sketch challenge. It fit perfect with my adorable Fuzzy Bear stamp from 2RedBananas. I wanted the thank you to look more like a pumpkin, but settled for a circle.

Banana Split Sunday

Okay, two weeks in a row late. Sorry guys. I tried to figure out how to have it post on it's own, but it didn't happen, so I'm late again. I was out of town again. I went to MN to the Vikings game and they won, Woo Hoo! Just barley and only because the other team missed a field goal in the last second. Still lots of fun. Anyway, this weeks Banana Split Sunday Challenge is a sketch challenge. Go to the 2RedBananas web site to see the sketch as well as other examples from our design team.

Banana Split Sunday

I know my post is a little late as it is Monday, but better late than never. This weeks Banana Split Sunday Challenge is a color challenge to use Orange, Black, and Purple. Great colors for this time of year and perfect for a Halloween page. I went to a scrap retreat this week end and so it was also a perfect time for me to catch up on last years Halloween pictures. If you can't tell by the outfits or the title my husband and I are suppose to be Sonny & Cher. I also used a quote on the page about love from 2RB Quotes Three set. Lets see all those great things you can make with these colors.

Banana Split Sunday

Todays Banana Split Sunday Challenge is to make something for Halloween. I used one of the new stamps called Jack-O-Lantern Penny. She is really cute and makes a great whimsical card. I also couldn't resist stitching a little spider web on my card. Too much fun. The prize for this weeks challenge is this stamp so if you like it lets see what kind of Halloween creativity you have.

Better Late...

Well here is my Scrappy Sunday challenge page from last Sunday. I am definitely taking my time with challenges lately. This was a fun sketch and I finished very quickly, which is always good. I used a quote from 2RedBananas from the set Quotes III. It is about love and just fit the page perfectly.

Penny Pumpkin

Today I needed a thank you card and so I used part of an image from the 2RB stamp called Penny Pumpking to make this card. It turned out nice for a fall thank you except that when I went to sew around the edge of the gold paper my bobbin ran out of thread. I didn't notice until I was half way around, so it just has the holes, no thread.

Banana Split Sunday Challenge

Bags, Boxes, and Wrapping is todays Banana Split Sunday Challenge. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do so I started looking around for templates and as soon as I saw this shoe template I thought witches shoe! I had so much fun making it. I found the template at PCP and they got it from an old issue of Paper Crafts back in 2006. I think you really need to use double sided paper for fun. I used some of the new Basic Grey paper. The little tag comes from a 2RB set called Princess and the spider is an old Quickuzt die. Now that I made one I can't wait to make another. I hope you take the challenge this week and have as much fun as I did. There is a prize this week of some Pink Paisley paper so lets see what you come up with.
I got the shoe template at www.papercraftplanet.com under learing center, templates.

Scrappy Sunday

I am really slow with this challenge this week. This is the Scrappy Sunday sketch challenge. I had to do this page as it was a part of a two page challenge. Some day I will be done with my spring break photos and will be able to scrap something else. Be sure to stop by 2RedBananas tomorrow for a really fun challenge.

MoJo Challenge

Today I took the MoJo Monday sketch challenge. I altered it a little as the shape in the middle was suppose to be a diamond but I figured my roof was a half diamond shape so it counted. I was very excited to use some cork with my quickutz scallop dies and a stamp from 2RedBananas called Fuzzy Bears. Obviously there aren't any bears on my card but I used the sentiment that goes with the bears. Check it out they are really cute.

Texture

Today the design team from 2RB is showing you cards with texture. We all used the same products that can be found at 2RB (Oct. Afternoon paper, Pink Paislee glitter, May Arts ribbon, and Dew Drops). My card is also using the new release stamp called "Birthday Penny". She is so adorable. Be sure to check out the other bananas sites to see what they came up with.

Banana Split Sunday 123 Challenge

This week the Banana Split Sunday Challenge was as easy as 123. All you need to do is use one ribbon, two stamps, and three dew drops. This was a really fun and different challenge for me. I used the flourish from the Aug. Journaling set and the quote from the Aug release. Hope you have fun with this one too.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

Skater Jack

I just love this new stamp called Skater Jack from 2RedBananas. I keep wanting to call him skater Jake because that is my sons name. I paper pieced his shirt and top to match my paper and found this fun skate sticker that was just perfect. I'm going to send it to my nephew for his birthday this year as he will be getting his license.

MoJo Monday Challenge

Today I tried the MoJo Monday Challenge. I'm making some cards for my sister in laws birthday and needed some inspiration. I once again flipped the sketch but this time horizontally. Lots of fun.

Scrappy

I use to do a page every week for the Scrappy Sunday challenge over at PCP and I got busy and stopped. I decided since I went to scrap with some friends last night that this would be a good week to start up again. So here is my page from the sketch challenge. The pictures are from Spring Break this year in AZ. Yes they are at a baseball game. Like I don't have enough baseball pictures to scrap. Also don't forget to check out the 2RedBananas sketch this week. There is a prize!

Banana Split Sketch

Today the 2RedBanana Split Sunday challenge is a sketch challenge. So I always put the sketches on a post it note and then make the card later. I didn't realize that I flipped the sketch until I saw the other Bananas cards, but it worked. I guess I need to start putting a label on them. Any way this card has a sentiment from the Aug/Sept. quote set that will be available tomorrow. Be sure to check out all the new sets.

Sneak Peak

Today is another cute sneak peak for 2RedBananas. This set is called "Fuzzy Bears" and has two cute bear images as well as two sentiments. I just love fall colors and this sentiment is perfect for a variety of cards or scrap pages.

Sneak Peak

Today I'm posting another sneak peak for the Aug/Sept Journaling set for 2RedBananas. It has both months, a journaling square and other fun things like a swirl. I just love journaling blocks and all the fun things you can use them for. Hope you can see my page as I had problems cropping so it is what it is. Me and my two boys in a hammock.

Sneak Peak

This week 2RedBananas is having sneak peaks of some new stamp sets that will be released on Sept. 14th. This is my first card and I used a sentiment from a quote set that has three different sentiments. I love having choices for my scrap pages and cards. I also used paper, chipboard and ribbon all available from 2RB. The paper and chipboard is Pink Paislee, Fascinating Collection. I also had to add some dew drops for fun. Be sure to check out all the fun things the other bananas do this week.

I'm Back!

Hello Banana Followers. I am back from the Little League World Series! Yes my son played on the Urbandale team that went. My husband Scott was the coach and we had the best time. We won a game, something that Iowa has not done in 15 years so it was pretty amazing. I have so many pictures and news paper clippings that I am going to scrap right away. I just had to share this picture with you. Not very good as it's scanned in, but it's the only one I have of them together in uniform. Hope some of you took a minute to watch a game.
Now on to the Banana Split Challenge. This week its Stripes and Dots. Just use stripes or dots on your card. I used double sided paper so that made this grandparents day card real easy. i also used a 2RB stamp set called Stg. Chicken that I just love.
Have a great Labor Day.

Banana Split Sunday

And I Quote... That is today's challenge for 2RedBananas. Use a quote as your focal point for your card and you have a chance to win this stamp set along with two other really fun quotes. I needed to make a puppy card and Making Memories June Bug paper was perfect with this quote. I'm finally getting around to showing you a picture of my new baby. That is my son Jake, Earl on his lap and Tzar. A new puppy takes a lot of time, part of the reason I have been slacking lately. Don't forget to check out the other bananas for some inspiration.

Banana Split Sunday Challenge

This week's Banana Split Sunday Challenge is to use sticker letters. I think these puffy letters are so much fun I couldn't resist using them on my card. I have a co-worker who just shared that she is pregnant and so this is a generic (not pink or blue) card with yellow dots. I also used the very cute "Precious Bundles" set from 2RedBananas. Be sure to take the challenge this week as there will be a prize!

Banana Split Sunday

As you can see I am a day behind. This page is for the Banana Split Sunday Challenge to reuse, recycle, reduce. I used a piece of packaging from Making Memories. The piece I journaled on is the back of a package of rub-ons that I also used for this page. MM is making it really easy to reuse as they are decorating their packages for later use. I am also please to use this travel paper and rub-ons that I got in a kit. Creating Keepsake had an article about how to use travel items for other pages and this is what I did. Of course, I also have the quote from Garth Brooks that you can get at 2RedBananas. Now I have to tell you the reason I am behind is because my son is playing in a state baseball tournament and we got a new puppy yesterday. More on that tomorrow.

B Day Challenge

I made this card for a sketch challenge over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards. It's a good site for me because like everyone I need lots of birthday cards. This one turned out cute but the colors look a little washed out on the post. The paper is basic gray so you know they are bright. The stamp set is from Party Bees at 2RB.

House Mouse Challenges

I love trying the house mouse challenges! I don't have a lot of their stamps but the design team always comes up with the best challenges as well as samples. This week was to not colour your image. This was somewhat easy for me because I make cards without colouring all the time. This is one of my favorite images and it was a fun card to make because I love sewing on cards. I can't wait to send this one off in the mail.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

MoJo Moo

Today I took the MoJo sketch challenge and used a Cookie Crumbs stamp set that I just love called "Tilly". I don't think you could make an ugly card with this set its so adorable. My favorite part about it is all the sentiments that go with it so it is so versatile. Have a moovelous day!

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Cuttle Bug Challenge

Today you can purchase the new stamps you have been seeing on my blog all week from 2RedBananas. This card is from the July Journaling set and is way cool. It has a journaling block, two quotes as well as shells so it is very versital. This card was also part of a Cuttle Bug challenge that you can join by going to http://www.cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/ . They have a terrific prize of embossing folders as well as a 2RedBananas stamp set. Don't forget about the sketch from the Banana Split Sunday Challenge where you can also win a new stamp set.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

More Quotes

This is the third quote on a new stamp set that will be available at 2RedBananas tomorrow. I wanted to make this card masculine because it was from a man and all I could think about was the movie so my quickutz film strip die worked perfect. Of course, the paper is sparkly and I added some gems. Even thought it's masculine we must add our bling!

Monday, July 13, 2009

Penny's Mushroom

Today is another sneak peak image from 2RedBananas that will be released on Wed 15th. She is called Penny's Mushroom and is oh so cute and fun to color. For this card I also used one of the flowers and stamped it for my background. Be sure to check out the Banana blog and join our sketch challenge this week. The prize is one of the new stamp sets. Woo Hoo!

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Banana Split Sunday Challenge

This week the Banana Split Sunday Challenge is a sketch challenge, my favorite kind. I used a quote from a new set that will be released on Wednesday. I did a little bit of sewing on this card because I haven't done any sewing in a while and it seemed to fit with the sketch. Be sure to check out the other bananas and join the challenge.

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Tree Swingin'

Another new sneak peak from 2RedBananas. This is a new illustrator named Mindy Baxter and her images are adorable. I had a great time coloring this image called Tree Swingin' Penny and can't wait to try her other Penny stamp that will be available on the 15th. Be sure to check out the other bananas for sneak peaks all this week.
