Gamer

Today I did a scrap challenge for Sketch Inspiration. The sketch was for a 12 x 12 page but I'm doing my 365 project and the page protector I was using for this week had a spot for 6 x 12 so I modified it to fit. I was also really excited to us several stamps from my new set that I just got from Papertrey Ink called Game On. I can't wait to make cards using the same set.

Line Frame

This weeks Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink is to frame your card with a line you draw. I have never done this before and was a little nervous it wouldn't come out straight, but I think I got it. The image is from the everyday button bit set which I really like because there are so many sentiments that you can mix with the images. The card is also very clean and simple and it's nice to do a card like that every now and then.

Mothers Day

Today I took the Card Pattern Challenge and came up with this mother's day card. It could be just a general card but I'm using it as a Mother's Day Card. I usually make three different cards for Mother's Day so I thought I better get started. I like how this one turned out so It will be hard not to just copy it for all three, but I'm going to try and be creative. I used glossy accents on the jar, but it's hard to see.

Inspiration

I am so behind on my baseball scrapping so every time sketch inspiration has something that I think will work I try and do a baseball page. You can see by the date this is from two years ago. I really like how this page turned out. It's a combo of old and new products which is always good. Count it!

Make It Monday #11

This weeks Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink was a hard one for me. You were to use a die as an embossing tool. Every time I tried I couldn't see the embossed part. I finally decided to use some core creation paper and then sand around my image and you could see it better. I hope you can see it in the photo. I also struggled with getting a good photo. The card turned out okay but definitely not my favorite. The stamps are from their mini valentine set that I just love.

Card Patterns Challenge

Today I'm trying a new challenge from Card Patterns. It was a sketch and it worked perfect for inspiration for this masculine birthday card I needed to make. I just got this embossing folder yesterday and it has also inspired me. My head is going in circles! I can't wait to use it again. It was really fun to use it on the coordinations paper to give this card a little color. It's hard to see but yellow is showing through.

Make It Monday #10

Today I have a card that I made for the Papertrey Ink "Make It Monday Challenge #10". This is my first challenge with them and I am really excited because I love their stamps and all their inspiration. The challenge was masking with die cuts so I used my mason jar die and sprayed glimmer mist on the card then stamped inside the jar. I hope I did it right. I know this card is a little out of season but I only have two of their dies and I wanted to use their products for the challenge.

46/365

Inspired by the Project Life I am going to do my own version. Since I became inspired now instead of in January when most people start I decided to start on my birthday. My birthday was last Friday and I turned 46 so I'm calling it the "slide towards 50 year". This page is a sketch from Sketch Inspiration and worked out perfect for my first page. My husband and son got a kit and put this chair together for my birthday. I just love it and them.

Spring is in the Air

This is another card that I lifted from the cards magazine. Now I'm up to 8 cards from one magazine. If I make it to ten I think I will have to buy next months. Ha Ha funny the little games we play with ourselves. This card was fun because I used stamps from three old sets and some scraps of paper left over from a layout. I didn't need to buy anything! Woo Hoo I should get extra credit for that. As I was looking for something to stamp on the chipboard butterfly I realized I need more background stamps. So much for this card not costing me anything. Now I'm off to put it in the mail.

My Card Challenge

My husbands Grandma K is in a nursing home. I write her a letter every week just telling her what's going on with our lives. Some weeks it isn't a very good letter but I think she likes to get the mail. I occasionally send her cards I make too and during a visit she asked if I could put together something they could make at the home. So now every month I challenge myself to make them a card kit. It can't be very complicated so sometimes it is a real challenge. So this is my Easter card kit that I am sending them. I love my new Quikutz egg dies and the basket was just a template I found on line that I reduced. Of course I had to texturize it to look like a real basket. Hope you like my challenge card.

Make It - Emboss It

Okay I'm starting back with challenges and the first one was an easy one with Make It Monday from Paper Tray Ink. All you had to do was us one of their stamps and heat emboss. I love this ticket set they have and so I used it on a page and a card. Our first little league game was last night (we lost) and I needed a baseball card to send to a mom that couldn't be there. I used distress embossing powder to go with the rest of the distressed look on the card. I didn't emboss on my page, but just wanted to show it. The stamp set is really cool as it has lots of words you can put on the inside of the ticket so is very versatile. I have made some cute birthday cards with the set as well.

Birthday Lift

Okay, today I have another lifted card from Cards magazine. Their card had spoons and tea cups and as soon as I saw it I thought I can use my Unity stamp set with silverware! I have been waiting to use my little mini set since Christmas and this idea was perfect. I did cut the stamp apart as it has a spoon and knife on either side. I was also excited that the sentiment fit with the card. The cake is from a Hero Arts set. I am going to try and start doing challenges but right now I am doing a challenge of my own to see how many cards I can lift from my march Cards magazine. So far I have lifted 7 and still counting. It makes the purchase seem worth while.

Book Club

Today I'm posting a page that I put together using a sketch from Sketch Inspiration. They post a sketch every Sunday and have great prizes. This is also the book club that I made the invite for. I had to scrap this picture because in the six months that we have had club this was the first time that we were all together. Love this new line from My Minds Eye and finally got to use my embellishment from Maya Road.

Birthday Car(d)

Well I needed a masculine birthday card and my hero car set was perfect. That is why I bought the set was to try and make some masculine birthday cards. I stamped on patterned paper again, just love that look and it's hard to see but I sprayed the tag with some glimmer mist. Still gotta have bling! Three days in a row posting, I'm on a roll.
