I took the online scrapping class from Big Picture Classes called the 12 days of Christmas and this is my first page. We were given photo prompts and now starting today ideas for putting together pages with our pictures. I am excited to say I put this one together today and now I'm waiting for Day 2! I normally don't scrap Christmas so this is really fun for me. Especially because I had to buy a bunch of Xmas stuff for my stash. This was also the photo from our holiday card so it did double duty. Hope you had a happy holiday.

Coloring Embossing
This weeks Papertrey MIM challenge was really fun, something I have never done before and never would have thought of. You were to use your copic markers to color and embossed image. I just got this new Hero Arts zig zag set and thought it was perfect. I also used the snowman from the Holiday Friendship Jar Filler set from PTI. I used three different blues but one color is hard to see.

Tag Your It
I usually don't make tags but Tim Holtz 12 tags has inspired me to make one. I also needed a tag for this gift bag. It's kinda sparkles and grunge at the same time. I stamped an angle at the top but it's hard to see in the photo. I used all of his tags for inspiration. Can't wait to see the next one tomorrow.

Birthday Cards
Every year for Christmas I give my husbands grandma at least 12 handmade birthday cards. So I usually try and make some throughout the year but this year it must have slipped my mind so I am working on birthday cards. This is card #2 and it is a sketch from Card Patterns. I saw a banner done with circles somewhere and thought that would be cute.

MIM Challenge
This week's Papertrey challenge was to use multiple stamps to make a background. I used three sets: Fall Friendship Filler, Everyday Button Bits, and Grunge Me. This was a really hard challenge for me, but I guess sometimes that's the point. I decided to go with tree backgrounds and tried a number of different stamps for the leaves and ended up using an eyeball stamp from the Friendship Filler set. My images seemed really big to me and it really made me wish I had some PTI flower stamps. Maybe with my next order! :)

Halloween Party
Just had to post a picture of me and my peeps at our annual Halloween party. This year we went with a Saturday Night Live theme and it was so much fun. We didn't have any duplicate costumes. That's me as Rosanna Rosanna Dana. We also had "Pat", Eugene the anal retentive chief, Buc Wheat, and Chris who lives in a van down by the river. Great Fun!

Brayer
This week the MIM challenge was to get out your brayer and ink up your embossed paper. I don't have any Papertrey embossing folders so I used this old Quickutz folder that has fall leaves. It was fun getting my brayer out and using it for a different look. The stamp set is from PTI Everyday Button Bits.

Halloween Party
After my son stopped dressing up for Halloween I decided that I wanted to dress up and have a party. So this is the 5th year we have had a costume party for Halloween. This is the card I made for our party invite. I just love Papertrey Ink's Jar Fillers and this is from their Fall Filler set. It turned out cute but was a lot more work than I thought for making 25! Trick or Treat.

PTI Blog Hop!
I am very excited about this Papertrey blog hop. The challenge was a photo inspiration and it was so pretty with the fabric pumpkins and the green and oranges. I can't wait to send this card out. I used my new photo finisher die for the sentiment and a friendship fall jar filler stamp for the pumpkins. I die cut the leaves out of canvas and I embossed the background using core creations paper so lots of fun things on this card.

Faux Watercoloring
This weeks PapertreyInk challege was really fun. I had been wanting to make a card with acorns for some reason and this was perfect. I used my Jar Fall Fillers set for the acorn and sentiment and was really excited to use my new distress ink from Ranger, Gathered Twigs from the limited edition set. I love that brown color. So I stamped my image and then used a watercolor brush to fill in the acorns with the brown. Then I had to give it a spray of glimmer mist and that made it even more watercolor like. You can see it better if you click on the cardl. Oh, I also used my new spiral notebook page die. So much fun!

Another Basket
This week the Papertrey challenge was to make your own tissue paper by adhering tissue paper to score tape and then stamping on it. Well since I keep making cards with my basket stamp the first thing I thought of was basket weave. This took a little bit of masking to get the weave on the tape and it isn't perfect. I also decided I should weave the tape a little. I liked how the tape came out and would use this technique again but my card idea is kinda plain. I guess they all can't be your favorite. Maybe I will go back later and jazz it up somehow.

Rosetta's
Today I took the Card Pattern challenge and used their sketch to make this card. I had been wanting to use my fabulous Martha Stewart score tool to make some Rosetta's but didn't have a reason. Then the sketch had circles on it so I went for it. They are so cute I made some extras. Might have to make some more cards. This card also has a lot of texture with the ribbon and I added distressed stickles to my brads. It was a lot of fun to make.

Make It Monday
Today I made a fall birthday card for a friend. The challenge was from Papertrey and it was to use your dies to cut a shape and layer it to make a faux chipboard piece. I used a cereal box and cut this basket 5 times and it turned out perfect. I'm still loving my basket set and making lots of cards for every season with a basket. I'm also glad I purchased the extra sentiments. Happy card making.

Card Pattern Challenge
Today I used the sketch from Card Patterns to make my card. I turned the sketch on it's side and did a little sewing. I used my new newsprint background stamp again. I think I will be using it a lot which is good. But I hope I don't overuse it. I also used my new stamp from the fall friendship jar set from PTI.

Mail Problems
Okay, I love these McGill punches and how easy it is to make these flowers but I don't have any idea how I am going to send this card. Does anyone have any good ideas? This card turned out really fall like with new paper from Little Yellow Bicycle and the Newsprint stamp from PTI. I made a bunch of the sunflowers and can't wait to make more cards.

Papertrey MIM Challenge
MIM challenge this week is to use a stamp that isn't a background stamp to make a background. I used this gift stamp from the Friendship Jar Holiday set. That made it even more fun for me as it's a Christmas set and I'm using it for a birthday. Very simple card. I feel like it needs some bling or some sparkles for a birthday card but I'm done with it for now.

MIM Challenge Colored Pencils
This weeks MIM challenge was to use colored pencils and to blend. This is not my strong skill so I chose a small image to color and filled in with buttons. I used my wood grain embossing folder for the background. I can't seem to use it enough. I also used the picket fence stickles on my picket fence! I thought this card was a perfect transition from summer to fall on this first day of Sept. Have a great day.

Papertrey Blog Hop Challenge
Mini cards are so popular right now I decided this would be the perfect time to make one. This card is inspired by the Papertrey Ink photo inspiration challenge. I love this vintage picnic set and the inspiration has books in it so I tore out a page of an old thesaurus and die cut my basket. The daisies were easy with a little stickles for the centers.
Freestyle #2
Okay I guess I really enjoyed the freestyle challenge more than I thought because I made another card with this technique. This time I used it on my background and went for a somewhat masculine look. Green and purple are my favorite colors but had to add blue for balance. I really wanted to add some stickles or glitter but was trying to keep it more masculine. What do you think? Should I add some?

FREEstyle Copics
This weeks Make It Monday challenge at PapertreyInk was to go freestyle with your copic markers. This means coloring outside the lines. So...it sounds fun and easy right??? But when you actually put your pen down on your paper you are like, "Am I doing this right?" That's what I did any way. Needless to say I had to practice going freestyle. Kinda goofy I know but I did like how it turned out. Maybe next time I use this technique I will be a little more free about it.

Make It Monday
This weeks PTI Make It Monday challenge was to use your die as a guide for glitter. As soon as I saw the idea I knew I was going to use my new small friendship die and make an outline of a bug jar. It's suppose to be like the glow from the fire flies. For some reason this card looks much better in person than it does flat on my screen. Maybe the glitter just looks better in person. Any way this was a fun one, haven't used glitter in a while.

RE: Little League
Well I was gone for a while but hope to be back scrapping and card making soon. My son's little league junior all star team won the state tournament here in Iowa which means that we had an unplanned vacation to Indiana to play in the regional competition. The boys did really well and our record we 2-2 so we got to come home. This is a picture of the team watching a game before we are about to play. My son Jake is the tall one #49 in the middle. Just love this shot. They love ball as much as I love scrapping and card making.

Hydrendeas
Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers. This picture is of one of the plants in my garden. Living in Iowa the soil doesn't have enough something in it for the flowers to turn blue/purple so every two weeks I have to mix up a gallon of water with mix for each of my six plants. I love them. So any way when PTI came out with a new jar set that had a bunch of hydrangeas in it I just had to get them. Here is my first card with the set and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

Christmas in July
Okay this week I tried to do the Make It Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink and I thought I did and then when I went to post this discovered that I made a mistake. You were suppose to use white ink and I used white paint. Oh well this card turned out cute any way. I used the brush technique from last weeks challenge and I also used a dobber to form my line. I guess Monday is just around the corner so I have another opportunity to try again. It was fun to do a winter card in the middle of July!
After this post I kept looking at my card and it was kinda plain so I had to go back and add some bling. Much better.

Stamp-a-Faire #3
Stamp-a-Faire
Over at Papertrey today they are having lots of challenges for their Stamp-a-Faire. I had time to make another card today and couldn't resist making strips for this get well card for my friend. I hope she isn't watching today. I also can't believe this is my second post. They have some more challenges so check it out. I might have to do another since it is rainy here.

Tuesday #2
Okay, here is my second card of the week for the Summer Card Class. I used the embossing technique they showed using ink on your embossing folder. I used the Tim Holz wood grain. A little hard to see in pic. I also used my new Technique Tues. stamp with the tree I am so excited about. Hope this card makes you smile.

Summer Card Class
This weeks colors for my summer card class are my favorite. Green is my favorite color and since I have a son I am always using lots of blue. I decided to grung up this card for some reason and I added a little bird in the corner (doesn't show well in pic) that just came in my new Technique Tuesday set. I was so excited to ink it up, I can't wait to use the rest of the stamps in this set. It's called Get Outside and has a great tree image that I'm going to try and use. I'm also going to try and make a card every day this week and post to kick off the end of class. Well see how that goes.

Card Class #2
Well today I made another card for my on line card class I am taking. This color combo was really fun and bright. I'm also excited about it because I made almost all the pieces on the card. I stamped, embossed, glossy accented, stazon on acetate, stickles on brads, die cut, fussy cut, punches. I think that's it. Boy it's fun to use stuff you already have and be really creative.
